Our Success Story
The Situation
The State of Louisiana has many systems running on outdated mainframe hardware. This presents a major problem as mainframes are expensive to maintain and staff trained in maintaining these platforms are aging out of the workforce. An agile team was formed to develop a new system running on modern technology to replace the mainframe. This team ran into struggles with standardizing best practices and delivering value to their client.
The Task
Agilify was brought in to help strengthen the team’s skills with our expertise and leadership. Following an extensive period of not delivering to the client, the primary challenge facing the team was to begin delivering useful functionality to the client. The team would need assistance in multiple areas – agile scrum management, developer training, software architecture roadmap, quality assurance and testing, and standardizing procedures with modern practices.
The Result
Following integration with the modernization team, the following goals of the project have been met:
- A standard release cadence
- Improved client confidence
- Implementation of CI/CD processes
- Improved technology stack and project architecture
With these goals met, the project has seen a substantial increase in delivery and customer satisfaction. The project has also become a model for other modernization efforts across the state.
